Lutz Oreans

ABOUT THE
ARTIST

Lutz "Luisman" Oreans is a German artist with a rich background in engineering and innovation. He earned his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1988 from Universität Karlsruhe (est. 1825), which later merged with the Karlsruhe Nuclear Research Center to form the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). After graduating, he dedicated his career to research and development in wide-area and fieldbus networks, representing Germany in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the International Society of Automation (ISA). His work played a crucial role in the establishment of the Interoperable Systems Project (ISP), aimed at creating an international fieldbus standard. Transitioning into research and development for industrial sensors and actuators, Lutz held several management positions before ultimately serving as a general manager for a new production facility in Shanghai, China. Despite his technical career, his passion for art remained a constant force in his life. Today, he channels his creativity into painting, bringing his unique perspective to the art world.

ART STYLE &
INSPIRATION

Lutz works primarily with acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, and water-soluble oils, experimenting with different techniques to bring his visions to life. His inspiration stems from a blend of imagination, nature, and fantasy. He describes his creative process as deeply internal, with ideas often emerging from within before being shaped by his experiences with the natural world. This fusion of technical precision and artistic intuition results in works that feel both structured and spontaneous.

ART TO
SOCIETY

Art serves as both an escape and a source of inspiration, offering healing and a new perspective on life. It challenges people to see things from different angles, much like scientific and engineering problem-solving. Each viewer interprets art uniquely based on personal experiences, making it a powerful form of communication that influences emotions, thoughts, and decisions. Art transcends language, resonating deeply with those who connect with its meaning.

- LUTZ OREANS

"My art is centered around three key themes: truth, goodness, and beauty, inspired by ancient Greek, Roman, and Christian philosophy. Growing up Protestant, I lacked exposure to the artistic beauty found in Catholic traditions, especially in places like Rome. Through my work, I aim to convey these three ideals and share a European perspective on the importance of beauty in art and life."
