ABOUT THE
ARTIST

Jascha Tolentino is a talented visual artist from Porac, Pampanga, known for his work in painting, printmaking, and drawing. A proud cum laude graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication, he made history as the first valedictorian from his college department (CAFA) at Tarlac State University. Currently serving as the Director of the Gamat Kapampangan Gallery, Jascha has been active in the art scene since 2014, creating works that often explore social realism and tell stories from his travels and daily observations. With a unique technique called "reductive painting," he adds depth and character to his pieces. His dedication has earned him numerous recognitions, including features in the book "Matenakan Kapampangan: The Art and Artists of Pampanga," and awards in both national and international art events, such as the "Sanskriti Ke Rang" International Painting Competition in India and a 2022 Metrobank Art and Design Excellence Semi-Finalist title.

ART STYLE &
INSPIRATION

Jascha’s art style revolves around social realism, often using his medium of choice to depict real-life moments, people, and environments. Inspired by his experiences and the dynamic energy of his surroundings, his work often reflects his observations of everyday life, making his pieces relatable and rich in narrative. Through his signature "reductive painting" technique, Jascha adds layers of meaning, creating artworks that not only tell a story but also engage the viewer in a deeper connection with his subjects.

ART TO
SOCIETY

For Jascha, art is a powerful mirror to society, capturing the complexities of life, culture, and identity. It allows individuals to connect with their surroundings and with each other, giving voice to the untold stories and underrepresented experiences. Art serves as both a reflection and a catalyst for social change, helping people understand the world they live in and fostering a deeper appreciation for the shared human experience.
