ABOUT THE
ARTIST

Joanna Marie Yap Cabrera is a passionate artist known for her innovative approach to mixed media. With a background in interior design, fashion, accessories, and graphic design, she has seamlessly blended her diverse skills into her artistic practice. What started as a curiosity for beading and sewing evolved into a creative venture—she began selling handcrafted beaded accessories and bags in 2009 under her brand, Allboutbeads. In 2023, she transitioned into visual arts, incorporating beads into her paintings, transforming simple canvases into intricate, textured masterpieces. Her works often integrate fabric scraps, string, wire, watercolor, acrylic, and oil paint, making each piece a unique fusion of materials. Committed to sustainability, she also explores the use of recyclable materials, continuously pushing the boundaries of her artistry.

ART STYLE &
INSPIRATION

Joanna specializes in mixed media, with a signature element—beads. She draws inspiration from nature and plants, believing that organic forms beautifully complement the intricate details of her beaded embellishments. Her works are a reflection of both creativity and craftsmanship, turning unconventional materials into captivating art pieces.

ART TO
SOCIETY

For Joanna Yap Cabrera, art is more than just visual expression—it is a powerful tool for inspiration, emotional release, and human connection. She believes that creativity provides an outlet for people to express their deepest thoughts and emotions in ways that words often cannot. Art transcends language and cultural barriers, allowing individuals to communicate universally and fostering a deeper understanding among people. Beyond self-expression, art also plays a significant role in mental and emotional well-being, serving as a form of therapy that helps process feelings, relieve stress, and spark joy. It encourages innovation, critical thinking, and personal growth, inspiring individuals to embrace creativity in all aspects of life. Whether through painting, sculpture, or design, art enriches society by preserving culture, evoking emotions, and shaping the way people see and experience the world.
