Mission & Vision

The mission of the Gamat Kapampangan Art Group is to support local artists and promote Kapampangan art, traditions, and cultural heritage in Pampanga. The group aims to provide a platform for artists to showcase their work and collaborate with others in various fields, including music, culinary arts, photography, sculpture, pottery, and more.

The vision of the Gamat Kapampangan Art Group is to create a thriving artistic community in Pampanga, where artists can freely express themselves while contributing to the preservation and promotion of Kapampangan culture. Through workshops, exhibitions, competitions, and other activities, the group seeks to nurture and support the growth of local artists and their creative endeavors.

Our story

2016
A group of passionate artists from Pampanga founded the Gamat Kapampangan Art Group, aiming to showcase their work and gain exposure through exhibitions in Manila, Baguio, and Pampanga.
Late 2020s
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the group shifted online, continuing to create art despite restrictions. This period strengthened their commitment to promoting Kapampangan art and traditions.
2021-2022
With support from the local government, the group expanded its reach, securing exhibition opportunities in Clark Museum, SM City, Marquee Mall, Swissotel, Hilton, and other venues.
December 2022
The group recognized the need for a more structured organization. The decision was made to register as a cooperative to better support its artists.
November 7, 2023
The Gamat Kapampangan Artist Consumers Cooperative was officially approved by the Cooperative Development Authority, making it Pampanga’s first visual artist cooperative.
January 22, 2023
The cooperative launched the Bale Gamat Kapampangan Art Gallery, a creative hub for artists across different disciplines, including painting, sculpture, photography, music, culinary arts, and more.
2023-Present
The group actively organizes monthly workshops and events such as Art Jam sessions, printmaking workshops, life casting sessions, and wood sculpture workshops, fostering continuous learning and artistic growth.
Today
The Gamat Kapampangan Art Group has 40 active artists, gaining recognition through local and national art competitions. Through their partnership with the cooperative, they continue to uplift local artists and preserve Kapampangan culture and traditions.
